Change your IP-address to an UK one

If you would like to change your IP-address to an UK one then you have to install Expat Shield. This shield allows you to have an UK-IP-address.

However, you cannot have both Hotspot shield (see my previous posts) and Expat Shield in the same computer because both softwares belong to Anchor Free. Thus, you have to uninstall Hotspot Shield in this case.

Hint: Expat Shield works only with Windows XP/Vista/7.

The UK-IP-address allows you then to be able to watch:

BBC iplayer TV: The following video show you this in more details. See also this link too: watch-bbc-iplayer.com

ITV player: The following images show you the ITV player.

Channel 4oD, Sky player and Channel 5 on demand may not work for you. But it is worth try!

Hint 1: You can also watch live TV on the BBC iplayer.
Hint 2: Use the Opera browser to watch those channels then the live streaming will be much faster.

How to circumvent the video streaming limitation?

If you are watching many movies or series via streaming that is using megavideo, rapidsharemegaupload, or veoh then you can actually circumvent the limitation of 72 minutes imposed on your client by changing your ip address.

So, just use the ip address switcher that I have explained in my previous posting.

In this case you will be able to continue watching some streaming videos. However, you have to go back to the position where the connection has been closed by the adequate engine.

Another better solution is to use a plugin called Illimitux for your browser, that can disable the restriction imposed on you from these websites.

Currently only the Firefox and Chrome browsers are supported.

Just go to the website illimitux to download the plugin.

Please report suggestions if you have some troubles!

Zattoo - live TV - Watch French Television from a foreign country

In my previous posts (click here) I have shown you what you have to do in order to change your ip-address to a french one when you are located in a foreign country. In this post I will show you how you can use Zattoo in order to watch french television online.
Zattoo is actually a professional program that can let you watch TV in excellent quality via internet.
In the following figure you can see how Zattoo looks like when you have a french ip-address.

Zattoo - french channels

The available channels are France 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. However, you got only "France 2" for free. In order to get additional channels you have to subscribe to the Zattoo HiQ with no ads (i.e. no publicity) and a better quality picture and pay few about 2.5 € per month.

Watch France 2 on Zattoo TV

I recommand you to do that. So, you don't have to wait for publicity if you want to change from a channel to another one. You can pay the subscription via Credit Card or Paypal. The following figure shows you the price of subscription in more details.

Zattoo - Subscription price for additional channels
Zattoo - List of the available
channels in France

That's it for today!
For more information, write me a comment!

Hint: You have to create a Zattoo free account in order to connect with the Zattoo application to live TV.

← At your left you will find the list of some of the available channels in Zattoo in case of the french-ip-address.

Using Hotspot Shield in order to watch movies and series from the US [Updated]

In this post (Updated) I will give you some tutorial about how you can actually watch movies and series from the US.

Hotspot shield is a free VPN service that allows you to hide your ip-address and also gives you an US-ip-address, which let you be able to watch fresh movies and series that are broadcasted in the United States (US).

Because you have an US-ip, the website where you want' watch thinks that your location is currently in the US, which is not entirely true because you call that website via the Hotspot Shield server which is in fact located in the US.

Hotspot Shield was for me an essential tool in order to counteract the blockade 404 that was imposed to us (in Tunisia) for several years before the holy revolution of 7.12.2010-14.01.2011 occured.
Back in 2010, I still remember how I showed some friends and family how they can use Hotspot Shield in order to open youtube, wat.tv, and other websites, which were blocked too. That was really cool :)
Hotspot Shield (AnchorFree)
Also, the service is free but it is financed by ads (advertisement) that you have to click sometimes: "This is money too!"

Going back to this tutorial...

So, now all you have to do is to download the Hotspot Shield program located here.

And then, just follow the following steps:
  • In Step 0, download the program and install it.
  • Step 1, connect with Hotspot Shield like seen in the image
  • Step 2, connection will be established. It takes some times... and you have to click a start button.
  • Step 3, This is it! :) enjoy!
Check the following websites, if you would like to watch some fresh new series that did not reached yet the old continents.

  1. HULU
  2. ABC
  3. CBS
  4. NBC

Also, check this cool website called pandora.com where you can hear music from many artists from around the world.

How to watch French Television via internet in a foreign country

!!! The French Server Arethusa is no more available !!!
You will be redirected to an Ukrain-based server.
Another possibility is still available but it will not be explain in this blog.

In this post I will give you some guidenlines about what you have to do in order to be able to watch the French Television in a foreign country.

For example, if you would like to watch the french television: TF1, France 2, France 3, France 4, etc. Then, you can go for example to the TF1-website or just click on live. However, this may not work for you, because your IP-address is referring to another country other then France. Because, the broadcasting of national televisions is only limited to the country boundary.

So, what you can do is actually to change your IP-address to a french one. All you have to do is to find a french free or paid server that offer you a VPN connection.

Hint: Concerning the law you have to be careful if you are going to do it. I think that there is no law that prohibit such kind of acting. But I'm not sure!

Ok, I'm a nice guy :) I will give you a link of a free french server called: Arethusa

If you are in the Arethusa-site just select Help - then select Free Server - there you can find further information about how to use the server and what user and password you require.

I'm nice again :P, so just click on this link to download the required zip file: http://wired.s6n.com/vpn/arethusa-free.zip

In the zip file you will find a certificate that you have to install and a profile file required for OpenVPN. Indeed, we are going to use the OpenVPN client in order to connect to the Arethusa server. The OpenVPN client could be find here: http://openvpn.net/index.php?option=com_content&id=357

If you have succeeded in installing the OpenVPN client, the Arethusa certificate, and its OpenVPN profile. Then your OpenVPN client have to look like follows. If some problems occurs probably you have to install some frameworks related to the operating system like .Net framework for the windows system.

OpenVPN - Arethusa Profile

Now, all you have to do is to sign up in order to connect to the server. So, just click on the Arethusa-free profile in order to get connected.

OpenVPN - Arethusa Login
Now, type as username and password the following ones:
username: arethusa
password: tguaj88v7k

And click on Login as seen in the figure to connect

OpenVPN - Arethusa connected
Here it is you have succeeded in changing your IP-address so just open your browser and type the required french television that you want to watch in your search engine. By, trouble the OpenVPN is yellow so just restart all the steps again.

In order to watch TF1 click on this link. For France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, etc. click on this one

By the way, you can also watch french television using Zattoo.  However you have to pay something like 2.5 € monthly in order to be able to watch multiple french television. Unless, you will only watch France2 for free. This will be explained further in a separate post.
